Samsung’s „The race of hope“ for SOS Children’s Villages in Serbia
Samsung Company organized at 9th June humanitarian action “The race of hope” and asked all to use the new sports apps “Hope Relay”, to help fundraising for SOS Children’s villages in Serbia. For every three kilometer of each participant Samsung Electronics will donate 100.00 RSD and collected money, along with Samsung products, will be donated to children from these institutions.
After the race, all visitors were able to listen to concert of “Neverne bebe” group and hang out with the ambassadors of the project and the children from the SOS Children’s Villages. “Hope Relay” caravan then visited Nis (June 12), Kragujevac (June 13) and Novi Sad (14 June). Specially designed truck-stage was parked in the centers of the cities, and all present were able to join the race and gave contribute to Samsung’s noble initiative.
So far, this action collected 2.000.00,00 dinars, and the action is still in progress, to 12th September 2012.
To participate in this humanitarian effort you need to download the “Hope relay” that uses GPS monitors every mile traversed in running, walking, by bicycle or even on a skateboard, on condition that you move slower than 40 km / h. The application works like any other system that includes GPS tracking, but there are some smart social allowances. Users can create their “avatars” by recording a photo and insert it into existing athletic frameworks. The application can be run on all smartphone platforms (Android, Bada, iOS) regardless of device manufacturer.
For each individual, the application displays vital statistics, including mileage, how much money was collected and what was your score compared to the other participants “The race of hope”.
Samsung’s “The race of hope” was supported by numerous celebrities, including athletes Slobodan Soro, Dejan Udovicic, John Lendjer, Alexander Karakasevic musicians Dejan Cukic, Zvonimir Djukic-Cannonball, TV faces Yvonne Jafali, Zoran Kesic and Dejan Pantelic and actress Natasha Tapuskovic
